2008 will highlight the 16th year that the Chester County Council is hosting the Dick Vermeil Invitational Golf Tournament; this year on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.

Through the efforts of its volunteers and generosity of its corporate sponsors, the Dick Vermeil Tournament has raised more than TWO MILLION dollars in support of Scouting in our community. These funds help the Council provide quality programs and camp facilities; training for adult leaders; outreach to underserved areas; and financial assistance for youth unable to pay for membership, activities, books, uniforms, or camp.

Although Chester County is perceived as very wealthy, 5% of the children under the age of 18 live in poverty. This percentage is higher than most of the surrounding counties. It is the Council's strong desire to make it possible for any youth to reap the benefits and values of the scouting programs!
